Fireplace

We are painting the mantle and bookshelf white.

The mantle is finished, but I am contemplating how to reassemble the shelves (i.e., use a router or pins).  Also, I have been informed we will be painting the brick white.

Kitchen table

New addition - we finally found a kitchen table that fit our criteria and budget (who knew a 54 inch pedestal table would be so difficult to find). We didn’t commit to chairs at this time, but plan to purchase some basic latter back wooden chairs next weekend.

Chandelier, Day 3

I am not sure Katie anticipated a "nuts and bolts" restoration of the chandelier.  Good thing I took pictures originally, so I can fashion the component pieces back into a single unit.

Chandelier...

This is the new chandelier for the dining room that we found at an antique store in downtown Dallas.  We believe it to be all brass because the magnet did not stick.  Spent the better part of a few hours trying to polish it up.  We have held it up in the room and it looks great.

Looks like I have some polishing to do...

Post-cleaning...hope I did not use too much elbow grease.

Day ???, moving in continues...

The kitchen.  There will be some renovations in the future, but this is what we have to this point.

The den.  I have not completed painting.

Day 6

Originally, we were concerned about an area in the back yard. It is beneath the basketball goal...

Turns out, it is a bad sprinkler head. The previous owners were so focused on lawn care that they allowed it to become completely burried.

New washing machine.  Fun lights!!!

Ryder enjoying her rawhide.

Looks like some ceiling work was performed to install lighting in the kitchen. Unfortunately, someone had some issues.

Fireplace and mantel.

We decided on the paint on the left. The material above the paint is our sofa and below is from the chairs.
